The Counihan-Sanchez family of Brent, north London, have called for a protest at their home when Brent council tries to evict them on Monday 27 May.

They were told that an inheritance from their grandfather in Ireland could mean the parents losing their home. This could lead to  the children being separated and put into foster care.

“We spent Christmas not knowing if we’d have anywhere to live or even if we’d be able to stay together,” said 16 year old Sarah Counihan-Sanchez at last Saturday’s benefit justice summit.

“There are many other families who are in the same situation as us. We are fighting for the working class and the poor, and we are going to keep fighting.”

They are also set to lobby Brent council’s annual general meeting on Wednesday of this week
