Number of homeless doubles
THE FIGURE for homeless families housed in bed and breakfast accommodation has more than doubled since 1997. It has risen from 4,100 families to 10,830. This is despite New Labour’s 1997 election promise to “reduce the use of costly bed and breakfast accommodation”.
