AN ASIAN teenager was badly injured when an axe was thrown through his car window in a racist attack in Oldham, Greater Manchester, last week. Eighteen year old Liaqet Ali suffered a broken jaw and lost several teeth after the car he was travelling in was cornered by a white gang in a Ford Escort.

‘There was no warning. It all happened so quickly,’ Liaqet told a local newspaper. ‘We had been picking up a friend’s brother from school. The two men were shouting racist abuse and the next thing the axe came through the window. It’s just pure racism.’

This outrage follows another attack at the end of last month, which Oldham police say they believe is racist. A young Asian walking through the town centre was attacked and stabbed in the eye by eight white youths.
