Workers at the Oxford University Press (OUP) Corby warehouse were to strike for 72 hours from Wednesday over pay.

This would be the 84 Unite union members’ third strike—following a 48-hour one last week and 24-hour action the previous week.

The union pushed the action back from Monday as “the chapel [workplace union branch] feels this will be more effective,” said Unite national officer Steve Sibbald.

OUP offered a 2 percent rise, but the warehouse staff want 4.2 percent to make up for the pay freeze they endured last year.

Workers have recently rejected a new 2.5 percent offer.
