Universities have been told to expect the worst cuts since the 1930s—funding could be slashed by 35 percent over the next five years.
So-called “loss making” courses will be scrapped—like humanities and arts.
Universities are also likely to dramatically increase fees if the current cap on the £3,250 limit is lifted. That will mean even fewer students from poor backgrounds will get into university—and the rich elite will get a head start.
