Some 58 printers and other workers have been made redundant at Wyndeham Impact in Basingstoke.

Bosses are preparing to shut the site down following a 30-day “consultation” period.

This follows a long and bitter dispute over redundancies and wage cuts.

Workers in the Unite union had been striking every Friday for the past 23 weeks—until they were locked out last weekend and told not to come back.

Since then manufacturing on site has ceased, although a small number of staff remain in place for the time being.

The company made a profit of £1.2 million in 2010.

This was the year when workers were told that there was no money to reverse a supposedly temporary pay cut.
