Protesters march on Faslane base

Over 1,400 people marched on the Faslane nuclear submarine base, situated on the Clyde, last Sunday. It was the largest Scrap Trident demonstration in Scotland since the mass protest which greeted the G8 in 2005.

The campaign for Scottish independence reached out to new layers of people all across Scotland. For a large number of people it was their first time at Faslane, but it certainly won’t be their last.

Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon was not at the demonstration. But she made a statement in support of the campaign.
