Campaigners for the Left List were set to join a protest against airport extension at Heathrow airport in London on Thursday this week, Terminal Five’s opening day.

Elaine Graham-Leigh, who is standing on the London assembly list, told Socialist Worker, “I am going to the protest with Left List’s mayoral candidate Lindsey German.

“This is an important issue, not just for London but for the whole world. Tackling climate change means cutting emissions from aviation.

“Labour argues that extending Heathrow is important to attract business into Britain. It is putting the interests of capitalism over the future of the planet.”
