The RMT rail workers’ union launched its Rail Against Privatisation march in Glasgow last Saturday.
The marchers, who will visit major cities across Britain over the next two weeks, were seen off by a crowd of 200 supporters.
Speakers at the launch included Bill Speirs of the Scottish TUC and Scottish Socialist Party MSP Tommy Sheridan.
We travelled to Edinburgh on Sunday, marched around the town and had a well attended meeting at the Communications Workers Union club.
The spirit on the march has been very good and we have had a lot of news coverage. We have had a very good response from the public.
We moved on to Newcastle on Monday.
