Rain didn’t stop play

Despite the rain at the weekend Socialist Worker sellers sold 131 papers in Birmingham city centre with 141 collected for Dudley strikers, while 101 papers were sold on Market Street in Manchester, 96 in Newcastle, 75 at Chapeltown Carnival in Leeds, 72 in Edinburgh city centre, 30 in Longbridge with 40 collected for Dudley, 28 in Exeter town centre, 27 on the Narrow Way in Hackney, 26 papers in Glossop and 25 in Barking.

In the workplaces 28 papers were sold at Peugeot in Coventry, 27 at NDO in north London, 17 at Newcastle Civic Centre, 16 at Sheffield town hall, 11 at Glacier Metals in Glasgow, 9 at Chivas Regal in Paisley, 7 at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, 7 at Remploy in South Wales, 6 at Millfields Refuse Depot in Hackney and 5 at Ealing town hall.

In the last week 6 people have joined the Socialist Workers Party in Glasgow, 3 in Sheffield, 2 in Hackney, Holloway and Edinburgh, and 1 in Coventry, Neath, Notting Hill and Nottingham.
