Around 150 workers and students rallied in support of Leeds university lecturers on Thursday of last week.
Lecturers from Doncaster, Northumbria, Newcastle and York joined the protest to oppose job cuts at Leeds. Leeds lecturers called off planned strike action last month after management offered a new deal. Talks to finalise the details continue this week.
Their UCU union has reserved the right to reinstate the strikes if management reneges on the deal.
The UCU union has called a London-wide protest on Saturday 20 March in protest at job cuts in education. Assemble 12 noon at King’s College London in the Strand.
