Disabled people and their supporters were set to lobby the House of Lords on Wednesday of this week against measures in the Welfare Reform Bill.
The bill aims to cap a household’s benefits at £500 a week, and replace the disability living allowance with a new “personal independence payment”.
The government says this will “save” billions of pounds.
No going back to Dickensian days—defend benefit rights. Wednesday 11 January, Assemble 1pm opposite Parliament, Lords’ entrance, Abingdon St SW1. For more information see www.dpac.uk.net
