School bigotry

THERE IS a crisis over teacher shortages. Yet primary school teacher Veronica McLeod was sacked last week from her job at St Kessog’s School in Balloch, Scotland.

Her crime was to have had a baby while not being married. For this the school, run by the Catholic church, sacked her. New Labour wants hundreds of new “faith schools” in Britain. That will only encourage more such bigoted decisions.
