School strikes over observations

Teachers at John Gulson primary school in Coventry began a two-day strike on Tuesday of this week.

The NUT and NASUWT union members are fighting a new appraisal policy and excessive observations.

College strike to defend 70 jobs

Lecturers at Chesterfield College were set to strike to save jobs on Thursday of this week. Management wants to impose compulsory redundancies on 70 lecturers.

Kirklees College to ballot

UCU members at Kirklees College are balloting for strikes to defend jobs, pay and conditions.

Bosses want to slash over 50 jobs and cut the pay of those workers who remain.

The ballot ends on Monday of next week.
