Teachers in Scotland will begin a work to rule in protest at the government’s attacks on public sector pensions.

Workers in the Scottish Secondary Teachers’ Association (SSTA) are angry after government reforms pushed up their pension contributions.

The action was set to begin on Tuesday of next week. It means that teachers will refuse to work longer than 35 hours a week.

Some 86 percent of teachers backed industrial action in a recent ballot on a 38 percent turnout. The SSTA has around 8,500 members.
