A demonstration and rally was held in south London on Saturday 11 December as part of the campaign to save Shaker Aamer.
Battersea resident Shaker Aamer is the last British detainee in Guantanamo Bay. After nearly nine years in captivity, both David Cameron and his deputy Nick Clegg have recently felt compelled to speak about him to Hillary Clinton.
The demonstrators pointedly marched from Battersea’s new US embassy site past the mosque Shaker used.
