A leading Iranian human rights campaigner and Nobel Prize winner, Shirin Ebadi, is bringing her campaign against an attack on Iran to London after a successful tour of the US.

Ebadi told an audience in Michigan, “As a Muslim Iranian, I state here that I do criticise the government of Iran. But this does not mean that America has the right to invade Iran.

“If America has not learned its lesson from Iraq and thinks of invading Iran, notwithstanding all of the criticisms we have of our government, we will defend our country to the last drop of our blood. We will not let an alien soldier set foot on the land of Iran.”

Ebadi has been attacked by the pro-war lobby for her campaign against war.

Shirin Ebadi will be speaking alongside Tony Benn, Lindsey German and Jeremy Corbyn MP at Friends House, opposite Euston Station, on Friday 2 June, 6,30pm. For more information send an e-mail to Action Iran at [email protected]
