Some 900 members of the Aslef drivers’ union on South West Trains struck on Tuesday over management arrogance.
The dispute began at Waterloo station, where there was a disagreement over the company providing taxis for drivers on early and late duties.
Aslef members on South West Trains overwhelmingly supported taking industrial action in support of workers at Waterloo. The strike was very well supported and hit services hard.
Further strikes are planned for 8 and 11 September.
Aslef last week suspended strikes on the Gatwick Express after receiving a new pay offer.
