Up to 150 protesters joined the second South Yorkshire Freedom Ride to fight for the right for free travel for disabled people and pensioners.
This right has been axed by local Labour councils to save just £320,000 a year. A mass rally voted unanimously to repeat the protest next week.
Train drivers promised support from the Aslef union. A Green Party councillor spoke in favour of the protest as did Barnsley Trades Council.
