Around 480 bus workers in the Unite union at Stagecoach Bluebird in north east Scotland are set to strike over pay on Thursday of this week.
The dispute involves drivers, engineers, cleaners and office workers. The workers have rejected a pay offer of 9.75 percent over two years.
Unite regional organiser Tommy Campbell told Socialist Worker, “The union is very proud of the stewards and members for their strong stand in this campaign for higher pay. This campaign is to persuade the company to give less of its profits to the shareholders and more to the workers.”
The strike will hit bus routes across Aberdeenshire, and the north east of Scotland.
Four more 24-hour strikes are planned.
