Stirling strike by lecturers

Lecturers at Stirling University struck on Tuesday of this week in a battle to save jobs.

Management want to impose 17 compulsory redundancies in the institute of aquaculture. Some 64 percent of lecturers backed strikes in a ballot, and 83 percent supported action short of a strike.

Lecturers say that management hasn not consulted properly with the union.

Students joined lecturers and marched to a rally in the city centre.
