Over 60 people attended a meeting in Battersea, south London, on Monday of this week.

They are fighting Wandsworth council’s plans to evict tenants whose relatives are convicted of riot-related offences.

In August they singled out Maite de la Calva and her daughter for eviction if her son Daniel is convicted of riot-related offences. His trial begins next week.

Two more households have since been served eviction notices.

The meeting, called by Wandsworth Against Cuts, launched an anti-evictions committee.
