Over 500 protesters turned out against Tony Blair when he spoke about ‘faith and globalisation’ at London’s Westminster Cathedral on the evening of Thursday of last week.

Blair was visibly disturbed by the din being made outside. ‘People who sat nearer the back found it very noisy indeed,’ one of the audience members told the Stop the War Coalition.

‘At the front it was there all the time and particularly obvious when the cathedral’s sound system broke down – several times – heavenly intervention perhaps? My sense is that Blair was very troubled by it all. When people at the back shouted ‘Can’t hear’ he visibly flinched.’
