NUT teachers’ union members at Haggerston school in Hackney were to strike again on Tuesday and Thursday of this week following a solid strike on Thursday of last week.
The union has also served notice of four days of action in September. The action is against proposed redundancies and the situation is quite serious.
Several NUT members were served with compulsory redundancy notices while at the school sports day two weeks ago. They have been told they will be paid until December but that they should not come back in September.
The school has not consulted on the need for these redundancies.
