Teachers in five schools in Tamworth, Staffordshire, were set to strike on Wednesday of this week in protest at plans to introduce an academy and a privately-run sixth form in the town.
The strike is part of an ongoing campaign against the plans. The schools affected are Belgrave High School, Queen Elizabeth Mercian School, Rawlett Community Sports College, Wilnecote High School and Woodhouse Business & Enterprise College.
