Success for Mirfat Badallah

Mirfat Badallah, who was threatened with immediate deportation to Yemen, has scored a major success.

The Home Office has now accepted that she applied for leave to remain in 2008, something which it had denied until now.

This means that her application to remain in Birmingham, where she has lived for 11 years, with her husband and two children, will now be considered while she remains in Britain.

Mirfat told Socialist Worker, “Things started to move when I took charge and I fought back.

“Thanks to everyone who has written letters of support. I know that this has affected the Home Office’s response.”
