Around 35 people joined a protest in Leigh, near Wigan, called by Unite Against Fascism.
It was called in opposition to a racist protest called there by the fascist North West Infidels (NWI) last Saturday.
The NWI bussed in fascists to their protest, which numbered around 60.
People left their details to be kept in touch about future UAF activities in Leigh, especially Unite Against Fascism’s Nick Griffin Must Go campaign for the European elections.
In Manchester city centre last Saturday, Socialist Worker campaigners withstood an organised attack by a score of National Front (NF) thugs.
The fascists tried to block their stall by draping NF flags in front of it.
Socialists stood their ground chanting “Nazis off our streets” and targeting the NF flags.
One woman emerged from the NF group to assault one of the socialists.
The fascist was later arrested and is due to appear in court this week.
