Target Marks & Spencer
WORKERS FROM Marks & Spencer in France and Belgium were due to march in London on Thursday of this week against job cuts. Their target is the British company which plans to close all 18 stores in France, slashing 1,800 jobs, and a further 20 stores across Europe. Over 1,000 workers’ jobs are under threat in Britain. Marks & Spencer still recorded 430 million profits in the year to March.
The protest was backed by the TUC, and the USDAW and GMB unions which organise among shop workers in Britain.
