After three days solid strike action over bonus pay last week, union members working for Laing O’Rourke at Heathrow Terminal 5 were set to vote on a new deal on Wednesday of this week.

The latest offer is for £800 back pay and 80p an hour bonus.

Feelings among the workforce are mixed over the offer.

No notification of future strike action has been given by the unions, but the workers will strike for a full week if the offer is rejected.

With the success of previous strikes at the terminal it is clear that the workers are in a strong position, but the latest offer is 85 percent of the original demand.
