THE PARASITE prince is set to get a £5 million makeover of his new London palace paid for from public money.
Prince Charles plans to move into Clarence House, the plush London mansion left by his grandmother, the Queen Mother. Not a penny tax will be paid on the £50 million she left in her will. Charles wants us to foot the bill for refurbishing his newly acquired palace.
UNIVERSITIES FACE ‘collapse’ unless public money is used to solve a huge debt crisis. That stark conclusion comes from a report commissioned by New Labour. It found that universities operate at around £1 billion a year short of what they need.
David Westbury, principal of Birmingham University, was a key figure behind the review. He says that unless something is done ‘the shortfall in funding will bring about either huge deficits in universities or a complete collapse in infrastructure’.
