British National Party (BNP) deputy leader Simon Darby tried to attend a youth electoral hustings organised by the YMCA in Stoke-on-Trent last Thursday.
The Unite Against Fascism group at Staffordshire university picketed the event and stopped the Nazi leader from getting in.
Darby arrived to a vibrant multicultural demonstration and then fled.
Later, he moaned on his website, “They can go ahead and have their fake debate and I’ll go and buy the Daily Mail.”
Charlotte, a broadcast journalism student, said, “It felt amazing to be on the protest.
“We stopped him from getting in and corrupting young minds with his racism.”
