The Tories have drained £3 billion out of the NHS, a new report reveals.

The London’s NHS at the Crossroads report was published on Thursday of last week, two years after the Health and Social Care Act was passed. It details an unravelling of a health service that is cash strapped and fragmented.

Since the Act the government has taken away billions that should have gone on patient care.

Mental health care is an especially strong concern. Budgets have been slashed for the past two years and face even deeper cuts next year. Patients are being moved to private beds, often far away from friends and family.

The report, carried out by People’s Inquiry and published by Unite, proposes an 18-point plan to save London’s NHS. These include the repeal of the Act and an immediate end to mental health cuts.

The report also calls on chancellor George Osborne to stop freezing the NHS budget.
