The Aslef union has suspended plans for further strikes by London Underground train drivers.

It said it had been offered “meaningful talks” with management over holiday staffing arrangements.

The drivers struck on Boxing Day bringing much of the tube network to a halt across London.

London Underground wants to be able to order drivers to work on Boxing Day with no extra pay.

London Underground went to the high court to get an injunction to stop the strike.

But Aslef’s lawyers challenged the injunction and the judge, Mr Justice Eder, found in favour of the union. This shows that injunctions can and should be challenged.
