Activists in the UCU union are urging a no vote in a ballot on a new pay offer.
The university bosses’ organisation has made a 2 percent offer for 2014-15.
This does nothing about the 1 percent imposed by bosses for 2013-14. And it won’t make up for the amount of pay workers have already lost in real terms.
The ballot ends on Thursday of next week.
Lecturers at Lambeth College in south London are returning from the Easter break to prepare for indefinite strikes if college bosses do not pull back from attacking their pay and conditions.
The UCU union members walked out for 24 hours on 1 April—the day that bosses imposed new, worse contracts on them.
The contracts mean longer working hours, two weeks less holidays and less sick pay.
The UCU union at Dundee University is in dispute with the management over their use of targeted cutting of posts and the setting up of a redundancy committee.
The union is now organising a ballot for industrial action. A protest was held on Tuesday of this week to lobby the University Court and demand they refuse to set up the redundancy committee.
