The United Left group in the Unite union held a national meeting in Birmingham last Saturday to discuss the best way to take the union forward.
The meeting agreed to readmit SWP members to the United Left.
The SWP was excluded from membership during the election as the party backed Jerry Hicks, the rank and file candidate who got 52,000 votes and finished second.
The key thing for the left is to build united and militant resistance to the cuts.
Four SWP members were selected as United Left candidates for the upcoming Unite national executive elections. Branch nominations opened this week and last until 7 February.
