Urgent appeal to all readers

The rising opposition to this war has forced itself even into sections of the mainstream media. That should encourage everyone to redouble their efforts to build the anti-war movement.

But we cannot rely on the millionaire-owned press to publicise the anti-war case. The Mirror gave left wing journalist John Pilger space to argue against the war, but the paper itself continues to support it. And a few pages after Pilger’s article was a Mirror piece extolling the killing power of the Royal Marines.

Socialist Worker takes sides against the war. From the beginning we have pumped out reports, arguments and information to oppose it. That takes resources. Every penny raised in our appeal for £200,000 is going to strengthen the anti-war movement.
