Over 250 people gathered in Tottenham on Monday for a vigil for Mark Duggan.

Black, white and Asian people of all ages were united in their anger at the police and politicians.

Josguid, there with her daughter, said, “The police have been killing people and getting away with it. This is the first time they will not get away with it. They need to be accountable.”

Jason, a young man from the area, said, “David Lammy is a sell-out. We voted him in and he has spoken to us like we’re children.

“This isn’t a black and white thing, it’s a class thing.

“There is no money around here. If the riot had been in Highgate or Kensington the police would never have let things get so bad.”
