Over 200 women trade unionists gathered for the TUC women’s conference last week.
They discussed how women can defend their pay and conditions, stand up against bullying bosses and fight for women’s liberation.
The agenda contained motions on equality legislation, maternity rights, rape and violence against women and the government attack on benefits and education.
Some of the loudest applause went to delegates from the PCS and NUT unions who spoke about the need for women to be at the forefront of strikes to defend pay and pensions.
