Workers are starting to fight back. Strikes by rail workers, postal workers, at BT and by bus workers, dockers and many others have shown that the Tories’ assault on pay, jobs and public services can be resisted.

And more workers are joining the battle – University workers, civil servants, and health workers already – with more balloting to strike.

But we haven’t seen a breakthrough in the national disputes yet. We need to go beyond one day strikes and to escalate the strikes

– and to strike together. And there can be no more suspending strikes just for ‘talks’. A number of local strikes have been successful, from dockers to bus workers – what lessons can we learn from these?

And how do we resist the Tories attempts to use racism and attacks on refugees to divide us? Starmer’s Labour offers no challenge this and won’t even back the strikes.
