The weak words of Western leaders telling Israel to let up in its destruction of Gaza mean little to the Palestinians who were still being starved, maimed and killed by the terror state this week.

In just six months the Israeli state has now murdered more than 33,100 Palestinians. This means that, on average, the Zionist state has killed 179 people a day, including an average of 75 children a day.

Workers from the World Health Organisation (WHO) gained access to the burnt-out shell of al-Shifa hospital on Friday of last week.

The WHO stated that “numerous shallow graves” were dug outside the emergency department and that “many dead bodies were partially buried with their limbs visible”.

Across Gaza, Israel is still starving Palestinians as it refuses to allow enough aid in.

Those existing in the north are suffering especially acutely from Israel’s blockade.

According to a new report from Oxfam, people in Gaza are being forced to survive on an average of 245 calories per day. That’s less than two slices of bread.

On Monday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) was still blocked from delivering aid to those in desperate need.

Israel had also blocked Unrwa chief Philippe Lazzarini from entering Gaza. He recently described the hunger in Gaza as being “man made” and added that aid agencies are engaged in a “race against the clock to try to reverse the impact of the spreading hunger and the looming famine in the Gaza Strip.”

Some Palestinians have begun to return to Khan Younis since Israel withdrew its troops from parts of the south of Gaza.

Most of those who have returned have found that their homes have been reduced to rubble by Israeli bombs and tank fire.

A Palestinian mother of four, Maha Thaer, told Al Jazeera news that the streets of Khan Younis “smell like death”.

“We don’t have a city any more, only rubble. There is absolutely nothing left. I could not stop myself crying as I walked through the streets.

“All the streets have been bulldozed. And the smell… I watched people digging and bringing out the bodies.”

Recep Abu Aklin, who returned to Khan Younis from Rafah, said that he “struggled to even find the location” of his home.

“I witnessed an indescribable destruction that I have never seen in my life here.

“There’s no water and no infrastructure due to the attacks, but we will resist. We will live in tents on top of the rubble,” he added.

Horrific details also emerged about the treatment of detained Palestinians at Israel’s Sde Teiman army base.

A doctor told Israel’s Haaretz newspaper of “deplorable conditions” and “routine” amputations due to handcuff injuries.

Haaretz reported that the doctor said “inmates are fed through straws, defecate in diapers and are held in constant restraints, which violate medical ethics and the law.”

‘I’m trapped in Rafah but I still believe we will be free’

Palestinian journalist Alaa Salamah is trapped in Rafah. She has a message for Western leaders after the discovery of Israel’s massacres at al-Shifa hospital.

“They must stop this barbaric war and stop being hypocrites—all they care about is power and money.

“Be honest with your people about what you are doing. The United States government is turning a blind eye to what is happening in Gaza. It is standing with Israel.

“There needs to be a change of rulers everywhere. They can’t do their job properly and they don’t deserve to rule.

“Conditions here are very harsh. We moved from a flat to a tent placed on some sand. Even making a simple toilet is difficult.

“In Rafah most of the food we get comes from the aid that is distributed. You can find food in the markets, but it is much too pricey for most families to afford.

“There is also a water crisis here. We have limited access to any water, but the water we do get is still not clean according to international standards.

“There was already a water crisis in Gaza before the war, but now it has become acute.

“It’s very easy to get a disease from drinking the water now.

“We just want to live in dignity on our land. We are very desperate and tired.

“The Zionists have tried to kill any hope that still lives inside us. They have tried to kill anything human inside us.

“But what they don’t understand is that they can’t do that. We still have faith that one day we will be free.”

Israel has decided to shut down the truth

The Israeli state wants to stop foreign news outlets from covering the horrors it commits against the Palestinians.

Last Monday, Israel passed a law that allowed for 45-day shutdowns of foreign media in the occupied territories and Israel. This law was specifically targeted at Al-Jazeera.

The law also allows Israeli soldiers and police to seize any equipment used by foreign media agencies that the terror state deems to pose a security risk.

In six months, the Israeli state has killed at least 95 journalists have been killed by the Israeli state. One of the most recent was Muhammad Salama, a host of the Aqsa TV channel.

He was murdered along with his family in an airstrike on his home in Deir al-Balah last Friday.

Back story
