This is an adaptation of a play written while Brecht was in exile from Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

It subverts an ancient Chinese tale in which two women claim the same child. Two groups of peasants want to claim a valley that was abandoned when the Germans invaded.

This production by the Steam Industry of one of Brecht’s best plays is totally free.

CSA: The Confederate States of America
Directed by Kevin Willmott

This hilarious and chilling mock documentary imagines what would have happend if the South had won the American Civil War.

Slavery rules across the whole of the CSA, as it carries out an expansionist military policy.

This version of a racist and violent America is not that different to George Bush’s. Frighteningly, most of the racist products in the “adverts” through the film are real.

A Scanner Darkly

This incredible looking cartoon film is based on the science fiction writer Philip K Dick’s novel.

It follows Bob Arctor (Keanu Reeves) who is part of a household of substance abusers.

He is also an undercover police officer assigned to spy on them. He becomes addicted and unable to discriminate between his two roles.

The suberb and innovative animation, which brings all of the characters to life, is really captivating. Make sure you see this film.
