This French film is set in 1942 in Nazi-occupied Paris. It follows the fortunes of Younes (Tahar Rahim), a young Algerian man who finds himself drawn into the French Resistance.
The film looks at how Algerians fought against the Nazis while also opposing the French colonisation of Algeria. Based on true events, it examines the friendship between Younes and his friend Salim—and the efforts by Algerians to shelter Jews from the Nazis.
