Bill Siret was born in 1929 and served in Palestine 1947-8, an experience which greatly influenced him. Some of this was explored in his poem Apology To The Palestine People.

Bill was a late developing poet – an active trade unionist, he began his work around the time of the Miners’ Strike of 1984-5. Later he would attend “open mike” sessions of the Oxford Poets Cooperative at the Victoria Arms.

Bill’s work is worthy of support.

The book From The Boat To Beacon Hill is published by Far More Publishing, 16 Mortimer Drive, Old Marston, Oxford OX3 0RS.
