Here was Cuba

In October 1962 the world came very close to nuclear war as the US and Russian superpowers threatened each other over Russian missiles in Cuba. 

This documentary, with lots of original footage, interviews people involved in the crisis from both sides including Russian and American soldiers.

It’s fascinating but doesn’t include anything of the anti-war protests that broke out in response. It would have been good to see the angry protests in Britain.
