Shobana Jeyasingh is a choreographer who draws on classical Indian dance and ballet, but refuses the simplistic label of “fusion” for her innovative dance.
Her latest work is based on the theme of cooking. Jeyasingh explains that she is “using food as a metaphor for discussing memories – the way we relate to each other and the conflicts between people with different histories”.
