A newly released set of greeting cards remembers the rich history of miners in South Wales.
The cards, published by Past Pixels, show some of the banners from the National Union of Mineworkers in South Wales.
Each card comes complete with a short history of the banner it shows—from the 1831 Merthyr Rising to the 1984–5 Miners Strike.
Part of the income generated by the card sales will go to the South Wales Miners’ Benevolent Fund. Past Pixels plans to launch a series of five greeting cards featuring prominent Chartists in the near future.
They were selected by socialist historian Dorothy Thompson before she died last year.
