This TV movie dramatises the turbulent 35 days after the 2000 US presidential election, when the result hung in the balance.
George Bush was declared the winner of the state of Florida, where his brother Jeb Bush was governor, meaning that he had won the overall election.
But Bush had only beaten Democratic rival Al Gore by around 1,800 votes, while over 170,000 votes had been thrown out or were uncounted.
Recount follows the legal battle to get the crucial votes in Florida recounted.
A superb cast, including Kevin Spacey, Laura Dern, John Hurt and Tom Wilkinson, makes this fictional account of how Bush stole the election even more gripping.
