This is a sublime and moving portrait of the decline of a small farming community of Trefeurig in mid-Wales.

Director Gideon Koppel captures the stunning beauty of the countryside and its people. His family settled in the village after fleeing the Nazis in the Second World War.

But all is not well. The community is facing deep crisis. The village school is closing, following the loss of a bus service and local shops.

The sadness of rural decline is emphasised by the magical quality of Koppel’s filming. He gives voice to its people and their deep sense of humour.
