Some 13,000 Parisian Jews were rounded up in July 1942, and taken to the Vel’ d’Hiv stadium.
From here the Nazis and Vichy collaborators transported them to the death camps—first the adults, and then the 3,000 children, who were told their parents were waiting for them.
In reality, they had already been killed.
