"ELECTIONS 2004. The year we break through." That was the boast on the Nazi British National Party's (BNP) website throughout the election. Instead they suffered a big setback last week. The BNP's leader Nick Griffin had invited the French Nazi Le Pen over to Britain in April to plan how they could work together when Griffin became MEP for the north west of England.

AMBULANCE WORKERS in the north east of England are threatening to take industrial action over management plans to stop paying them during meal breaks. The threat of action, which could take the form of an overtime ban, is another blow against Agenda for Change-New Labour's planned shake-up of the NHS. Under Agenda for Change every NHS worker would be put on a new contract. The North East Ambulance Service is one of 12 Early Implementer sites testing the scheme.

IN ANOTHER blow to New Labour's flagship scheme for the NHS-Agenda for Change-ambulance workers in north east England have voted to strike against changes to their conditions.

THIS LOOKED like being a very important week for postal workers in south west England. We were coming under intense pressure to deliver election material for the British National Party. But many of us are totally opposed to handling their filth.

IN THE four months since Respect: The Unity Coalition's launch on 25 January we have achieved a minor miracle. We've set up a new party with members all over England and Wales. He was likely to be speaking at an £80 a head fundraising dinner for the British National Party (BNP) in the West Midlands.

\"23 April-St George's Day-should be carved on the heart of every Englishman.\" These are the words of Andrew Rosindell, the Conservative MP for Romford-someone who pops up on numerous TV programmes championing St George's Day. Rosindell likes to present himself as part of a new young generation, a man who can both be \"cosmopolitan\" in his outlook and at the same time proud to be English. But don't be deceived by appearances.

JUST 60 days to go now until the 10 June European and London Assembly elections. Respect supporters are to up the tempo of their election campaign after the Easter holiday. Leaflets, posters, cavalcades, walkabouts, banner drops, press stunts, workplace and community meetings and much, much more are under way across England. In some areas things are even more urgent.

'ENGLAND EXPECTS every man to do his duty." So runs the motto of lead character Ray in this new BBC drama, appropriated from Nelson's battle cry at Trafalgar. This duty is apparently to ensure that all ethnic minorities are forcibly removed from his east London community. Steven Mackintosh gives a convincing performance as a security guard with latent fascist beliefs that resurface when his family is refused a council house.

IN TWO key areas of the north west of England meetings of the Unite Against Fascism coalition gathered anti-Nazi campaigners together last week. In Oldham, former British National Party councillor Maureen Stowe urged people at a rally to stamp out the BNP in the elections in June.
